  • For Type-1 engines, you will need to check whether you have an Alternator or Dynamo fitted
  • Do you carry a spare Belt? You know it's a good idea!
  • Pulley adjustment shims are used to adjust the tension of the fan belt. Add more shims between the two halves of the pulley to loosen the belt, take them out to tighten. To check if set correctly, grip the belt half way between the two pulleys with your thumb and forefinger, twist with moderate pressure. You should be able to twist it 90degrees when set perfectly
